Mello is a minimal to-do list app designed to help you focus and get more done. With its clean interface and thoughtful features, Mello strips away distractions and helps you stay organised without overwhelming complexity.
Challenge
Create a tool that strips away overwhelming features while providing everything users actually need for daily task tracking and note-taking. The challenge was designing something that feels complete without the complexity that distracts from core productivity.
Impact
The product is still in development, yet closed tests show that users complete core actions more quickly and return daily. Early feedback highlights the value of a lean, focused interface.
The Problem
When tracking daily tasks and writing notes, users need simplicity—not overwhelming features. Tools like Notion add too many capabilities that distract from the core purpose. My research showed that 70% of users felt overwhelmed by feature-rich productivity tools and just wanted a clean space to track tasks and write notes without unnecessary complexity.
Research & Process
User Interviews
Conducted interviews with 15 users from different backgrounds. Identified key pain points: feature bloat, confusing navigation, and lack of cross-device sync.
Wireframes & Prototyping
Created low-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes. Tested with users to refine the task flow and ensure clarity at every step.
Accessibility & Testing
Prioritised accessibility from the start, using high-contrast modes and keyboard navigation. Iterated based on feedback from users with different needs.
